- Motor vehicle travel is prohibited between the beach ramp at Gearhart (46° 01.8570', Mile 326), southerly to the Clatsop County-Tillamook County line (45° 46.9902', Mile 306), except as follows: Operation or parking of motor vehicles used for and engaged in towing dory boat trailers or essential dory boat launchings from Sunset Drive (45° 53.2830', Mile 313) in Cannon Beach southerly to Warren Way (45° 52.3566', Mile 312) with access from Warren Way only.

Visited this beach to look for sand dollar or snail die offs reported elsewhere in the last couple of days. Didn't see any live sand dollars, just broken ones - which seemed normal. A few Dungeness shells, different sizes. Very few jellies. Muggy day, warmish water, cloudy, feels like rain....read more
Nice foggy afternoon. Crowded. Interesting to watch the seagull eat the fish. I'm not sure if it killed the fish or scavenged it. read more
Beautiful evening. Saw one bald eagle at the estuary. Side of estuary has eroded significantly this year and now you have to scramble up the sandy bluff to walk around the edge of the estuary. Sadly, lots of trash found today. read more

In addition to the usual dungeness crab and razor clam shells, I spotted a clutch of squid eggs (see photos) towards the northern end of Mile 325.read more

Today, I spent one hour walking mile 325 with the primary purpose of birdwatching. I observed 6 Western Snowy Plovers foraging along the low-tide line near a large group of Sanderlings.
