Motor vehicle travel is prohibited from the north boundary of Nehalem Bay State Park (45° 42.2196', Mile 299), southerly to the south boundary of the Boy Scout property north of Sand Lake (45° 18.6444', Mile 268), except as follows: Motor vehicles essential to and engaged in boat launchings will be allowed any time during the year for a distance of 300 feet northwest from (45° 26.4036' 123° 57.2052', Mile 279), near Happy Camp.

Fairly crowded for a weekday. Stairway still in poor condition, handrails missing in many places. Beach clean. Portapotty now available at beach entrance. read more

I walked this mile today and just wanted to note the abundance of newborn sea stars inside Lost Boy Cave and the surrounding tide water. I have just never seen them this small before in the wild!read more
Beach quite clean despite being popular. No porta-potty as usual; I anticipate human sanitation issues.
Staircase in poor shape, and missing handrails have been draped in yellow danger tape. read more

Beautiful day. Beach very clean overall. Recent rain and snow have resulted in very full waterfalls. One small tree has slid down the hill in front of the house that has some long-standing drainage pipes.
