This was the day we had snow in Lincoln City so it was cold.  People were out walking dogs or just walking on the beach.  Did not observe any issues with litter.  The only unusual thing I saw was significantly more jelly fish on the beach than usual.read more

At least one cormorant and one common murre were found in a weakened state and taken to a local "bird" man, Harry Dodson (who the Oregon aquarium suggested I call), for help. Though the cormorant didn't live to make it off the beach.

Three dead sea lions were reported to the Oregon Marine Mammal Stranding hotline during the 4th quarter. High water brought in many logs to the Taft area. There was a dead young deer on the beach just south of Sharkfin Rocks, at northern end of mile 240. Many people on the stretch of mile 240 shoreline north of the Inn at Spanish Head were rock hounding.read more

  • The weather was warm, wind calm, as folks searched for agates in the exposed gravel at low tide.
  • As testament to the lovely weather, this back packer slept peacefully in a comfortable cranny of driftwood.
  • The waves were good for surfing and several wetsuit clad folks enjoyed the afternoon near SW 35th Street.
  • Many different types of nets and floats comprised this deposit on the beach north of SW 33rd St.
