(Viewed 12/24/2016; Report filed 12/30/2016.) The storms have brought in a larger than usual amount of trash, logs/wood debris, styrofoam, bottles - plastic and glass, some floats, some sort of plastic pallet. Mile 130 is relatively cleaner than this 129. I'm thinking I'll organize my friends for my own beach cleanup...read more

There appears to be a sunken vessel at approximately the south end of Mile 129, possibly in Mile 128. Informed by Ryan Parker, beach ranger, that it is the Sara Jo. Tide was coming in and I was not able to get a good close up photo with my Droid....read more

The day was gloriously sunny and warm(!). We were surprised how well populated the area just over the dune from the parking lot was. M129, one mile south of the parking lot, was quiet. Good for us! The ocean was fairly flat, the breeze light, and we enjoyed a snack...

I watch the crabbers in their boats just past the waveline. Their white forms are intermitently visible, then disappear except for the mast, as the waves seem to consume them. A crabbing vessel heads north. It looks like a small flat raft - the Kon Tiki! Then it turns slightly,...

Quiet, clean and private are the best adjectives for Mile 129 today. No trash, no flotsam. The beach in front of the foredune is gently sloped at less than 6 degrees. The tide was out. The inside waves were small and quiet but the outside waves looked quite large. I...

The ocean was impressively turbulent. Most visitors did not venture as far as our beach, probably due to the ferocity of the ocean, and the very high tide, allowing little safe beach passage. We picked up as much debris as we could carry, including plastic lattice fencing, rope, plastic bottles...

Overall the beach, while well-used on this day, is a quiet beach. The sun was peaking through, and a number of people were out enjoying the warmth. I took the opportunity to run with the dog. All dogs (3) were either on leash, or under excellent voice control. The most noticable...

Our beach was remarkably clean. No trash, and only 2 plastic bottles. The foredune is eroding. The topography comes off of the foredune at 90 degrees, then the beach levels off to a mesa-like flat area that is approximately 50 yards wide. There is then another drop off at about...
