Lots of agate hunters for this minus tide event (-0.34 at 11:40 a.m.) on Mother's Day. A few children (4) a few dogs (3) no major issues, little trash, gray whales visible just beyond surf zone.

Fogarty Creek Beach appeared to be in good shape with return of the sand. Waiting to see if Sea Stars return to previous numbers. Had a funnel cloud develop around 0930 before skies cleared....

Very quiet, ie small number of people, probably due in part to the heavy fog. Only dog on beach was not on a leash (Fogarty Creek). More seaweed than usual in the driftline.

Cold day with high storm surge. Wave runup at least 2+ hours after high tide (High tide in Newport was at 9:44 that day, a 9.8 tide was very high on the beach.

Fogarty Creek was relatively quiet. Boiler Bay was very "busy", ie over 60 people; 45 of which were students from Lane Community College taking part in a field trip.

Boiler Bay *very* quiet, ie only 3 people (other 37 on Fogarty Creek beach). Beautiful day, calm seas, no wind.

Both Boiler Bay and Fogarty Creek beach were relatively quiet, i.e. few people/dogs etc. No dead wildlife. Calm seas and almost no wind made for a very enjoyable walk.
